We regret to announce the 2021 Red Deer Highland Games has been cancelled due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
TO ALL SUPPORTERS AND FRIENDS OF THE RED DEER HIGHLAND GAMES
Every year, we look forward to connecting with our Scottish and Celtic community and sharing our culture with all participants and guests. Given the continued concerns around COVID-19 and the need for restrictions, we have officially made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.
This was not something we wanted to do, as this year would have been the 74th Anniversary of the Red Deer Highland Games and having to cancel two years in a row is disheartening. The Games are an incredibly important event for the clans, and it is one of our favourite ways to celebrate all of you from around the world -- but we need to prioritize the health and safety of our partners, volunteers and everyone who comes out and enjoys the talent and Scottish spirit.
We remain committed to the City of Red Deer and its community. We will not be rescheduling this year as some Games have been able to do. We will come back strong in 2022 to celebrate our 75th Anniversary with traditional and new activities and events!
We encourage you to support the Games that can take place this year safely and respectfully of others. We will come back stronger than ever!
Please share any news or tips you have with us, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in 2022.
Lang may yer lum reek!
